A face that most college football fans are familiar with, Carson Beck has been one of the more premiere names in the nation.
The two-year starter for the Bulldogs has had a plethora of success in his time at Georgia. Being able to witness national championships as an underclassman and stepping in for a top tier SEC school put Beck on the media map.
In 2023 throwing for 3,941 yards and having a 24/6 TD/INT ratio, expectations were high for Carson. This year, he is pacing similarly with 1,818 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. Georgia once again is a top 10 team, and Beck is the student leader of it all.

Carson Beck’s Strengths
Beck is your ideal QB visually. Taller stature, solid frame, and good throwing mechanics. He possesses the ability to get the ball out fast and has a nice delivery in doing so.
Intangibles is the name of the game for Beck. He has a feel while in the pocket and solid footwork to pair with it. I feel his short game and read progression is what separates him from other guys trailing him.
Carson is NFL ready in terms of mental skills. He has the pre-snap ability to diagnose coverage and throw with anticipation to make up for tight windows. I also feel it is very appealing that he is checking at the line of scrimmage more than most FBS QBs.
Carson Beck’s Weaknesses
Although I do not feel his arm is weak, it does not pop off the screen while watching the game. He has capability of improving as he has the base complete, but the deep ball is not a strength of his as of now.
Beck is so dialed pre-snap, that sometimes he can make determinations when getting the ball out quick and be fooled. He is great with multi-read progressions, but in the quick game can be fooled by safeties/outside backers dropping.
Beck, while mobile within the pocket, is not overly threatening as a runner. This can be a knock to him in the modern league while we see guys like Williams, Daniels, Maye and Nix all have mobile capability as they get drafted high.
Draft Projection
Beck to me is a fringe round 1 starter for how important QB is in the NFL. He has one of the highest if not the highest floor of the entire class. With that being said, the mobility and lack of extraordinary arm will hold teams back from a Kenny Pickett style worry.
Good fits for Beck would be the Browns, Seahawks and Giants. Teams that have cornerstone pieces, either a good defense or top end WR, and solid offensive lines. This will allow Beck to step in and be okay to not play magician, while using his mental edge to his strengths. My NFL comparison for Beck is Jared Goff.
