Player Ratings
Arm Talent: Good arm strength, can throw the ball with good velocity, along with good distance.
Accuracy: Extremely inconsistent, will drop it in the bucket one play, and then overthrow the receiver the next
Decision Making: Plays very safe, small amounts of turnover-worthy plays, but as a result, prevents big-plays from happening.
Progressions: Will get through his progressions, just not up to the speed of an NFL Quarterback.
Pocket Presence: Plays with a good feel for the pocket, however, he does play behind one of the strongest offensive lines in college football.
Anticipation: Does not throw with anticipation consistently. Needs to see receivers open when throwing into tight windows.
Touch: On deep balls, his passes have tremendous touch, one of his strongest attributes.
Composure/Poise: Struggles in big-time games, will also start to play frantically if under a lot of pressure.
Mechanics: Mechanics will break down when under pressure. Results in a loss of accuracy.
Mobility: Below average mobility, can extend plays when needed, but will not make plays with his legs.
Athleticism: Adequate athleticism, is not going to make highlight reel plays very often.
Versatility: Allar is a pure pocket passer with the ability to roll out if needed, and should not be used as a weapon in the run game.
Injury History: No apparent injury history that one should be concerned about.
Bottom Line
Allar will be desired by some NFL GMs for his size and pocket presence. With his accuracy improving so far in 2024, he could be drafted as high as the 5th-round as a developmental backup.
However, his lack of consistently throwing accurate passes will limit his ceiling as a NFL quarterback. Allar needs to continue to improve his accuracy and progressions through the rest of 2024.
