A young man familiar with a winning style of football, Isaiah Bond is looking to take the next step in his football career.
Bond, a junior at the University of Texas, joined the team this year as a transfer from Alabama.
After a solid sophomore year at Alabama reeling in 48 receptions for 668 yards and 4 touchdowns, Bond turned to Texas in hopes of boosting his draft status. This year, he has 20 catches for 364 yards and 3 TDs through just 5 games for the Longhorns.

Isaiah Bond’s Strengths
Bond is a vertical threat at any level of play. He provides a serious threat to defenders to keep safeties high and rotated his direction.
What you figure comes with speed, is elite separation and release. Bond has grown already from his time at Alabama, as his release package has grown to avoid press and has helped him gain separation from more athletic DBs.
Isaiah obviously provides as a threat of big hit plays, but this helps a lot of other aspects of his game as well. His YAC ability has been exponential as teams lay off due to speed, and he takes advantage by shortening routes and running after catch.
Isaiah Bond’s Weaknesses
His stature is not ideal for the next level. There are outliers for elite guys, but any WR under 6 feet and at 180 lbs are going to need to have major upside at other traits.
Connected to size, he is not an ideal edge setting blocker. Isaiah will have to take an Edelman style role and become tougher on the outside running game.
Draft Projection
Seeing how the NFL values the position, I do not see a world that Bond falls out of round 1. He is a clear-cut top 50 player, and WR gems are being found left and right. His elite speed and game breaking plays will be in high demand.
If Bond can gain some intangibles and become a crisp inside/outside flexible receiver he has untapped potential. My NFL comp for him is Jordan Addison. A team like the Patriots and Panthers top of round 2 could make a chase for moving up, similar to Xavier Worthy last year. Chargers to me are an ideal landing spot in the middle of round 1.
