Cole’s Three Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Dylan Cole November 25, 2024
willjohnsonmock draft

As we have had a view of the majority of the season for most college football prospects, it was time to put together the first three round mock of the season.

The order is based on modern NFL standings, not projections.

Trades have not been included yet limited to keep integrity of the current board. I went about this as to what I would do in the shoes of each team, not necessarily what I feel the league views each pick to be.

Round 1 Pick 1: Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

Jaguars need a playmaker no matter which side of the ball it is on. Hunter provides immediate help and at multiple positions, so this seems to be the clear-cut giveaway for #1.

Round 1 Pick 2: New York Giants (via TEN): Cameron Ward, QB, Miami

Giants give up pick 35 to jump the Browns and get their top guy. Ward has a powerful arm as well as big upside and with the benching of Jones, this was a home run for them in this spot.

Round 1 Pick 3: Cleveland Browns: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Browns can feel comfortable standing pat and securing the highest floor in the class. Sanders is an accurate thrower and can mold his game to manage the team far better than anyone in Cleveland now.

Round 1 Pick 4: Tennessee Titans (via NYG): Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M

Titans can give themself a standing ovation as they do not feel QB is worthy of a top 5 selection, while securing my EDGE 1 and grabbing pick 35 on top of it. Scourton will fit right in as a stand-up rusher for the Titans.

Round 1 Pick 5: Las Vegas Raiders: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Raiders have moved on from Adams and look for their new WR1. He plays a perfect style to mesh with Meyers Tucker and company in Vegas.

Round 1 Pick 6: New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

It is no secret the Patriots need offensive line help. Campbell should be LT1 from day 1 and getting a top tackle at 6 is a scenario the Patriots would be stoked about.

Round 1 Pick 7: New York Jets: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

With the top 2 QBs gone, it was to the next position of need. With Jermaine Johnson hybrid, and Reddick seeming to be on his way out, best player available and arguably EDGE 1 was the best option.

Round 1 Pick 8: Carolina Panthers: Mason Graham, DL, Michigan

Panthers have moved further away from the top pick but could make a case they would want Graham at 1 anyway. This is value at its finest and can give a huge upgrade on the interior pass rush with Brown healthy.

Round 1 Pick 9: Dallas Cowboys: Ashton Genty, RB, Boise State

I admittingly am not a huge RB guy, but Genty is a once every few classes type of talent. The combination of minimal at the position, splash Jerry loves, and 5 years of elite, cheap back play, made me select Ashton here.

Round 1 Pick 10: New Orleans Saints: James Pearce Jr, EDGE, Tennessee

Saints could use a plan at EDGE going forward, and under cheap contracts. Pearce is an elite upside player, and getting a guy with 5 years of team control at a premiere position can be super helpful for their salary cap.

Round 1 Pick 11: Cincinatti Bengals: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Although battling injuries, Johnson consistently shows when playing he is the top cover corner in the class. With Taylor-Britt failing miserably as CB1, Johnson adding to the young core of Newton and Turner is perfect.

Round 1 Pick 12: Miami Dolphins: Kelvin Banks Jr, OT, Texas

Miami has been in need of offensive line help going on 2 full offseasons, and finally they get their future here. Banks should be able to flex around but can fit to be a future star tackle for Miami.

Round 1 Pick 13: Tampa Bay Buccaneers: LT Overton, DE, Alabama

Tampa has not found their true Barrett replacement, and with Diaby developing nicely as an EDGE2, Overton can provide a good counter as a flexible DE. Hall and Tryon have not panned out, third time is the charm.

Round 1 Pick 14: Chicago Bears: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Value was just popping here, and we will not have another Brian Branch type fall here. Bears can get their future after Byard, a pair with Brisker for 5+ years, and a starting slot corner day 1 all with pick 14.

Round 1 Pick 15: Indianapolis Colts: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

This is a very popular and standard pick but adding a TE who can provide in multiple areas is a perfect pick in this Colts offense. Loveland can help Richardson develop as well as give another edge strength in the run game.

Round 1 Pick 16: Seattle Seahawks: Jalon Walker, OLB, Georgia

Showing a Seahawks draft where picks are based on upside is not shocking. Walker is one of the most unique prospects in the class and reaches his heigh of projected selections here.

Round 1 Pick 17: Los Angeles Rams: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

A rare 2 TE first round, but Warren is an extended WR. Mcvay would have a field day adding him to the arsenal with Kyren, Puka, and Kupp, and they are playing that position in committee.

Round 1 Pick 18: San Fransisco 49ers: Deone Walker, DL, Kentucky

SF is in desperate need of help for Bosa for the long term. Hargrave was not exactly what they were expecting with Armstead leaving in the short term, so maybe Walker can find his role an impact in 2025.

Round 1 Pick 19: Denver Broncos: Luther Burden, WR, Missouri

This is another atypical selection but makes too much sense to pass on. This pick will essentially reset the Jeudy pick with Burden and give a 1/2 punch with Sutton going forward for Bo Nix.

Round 1 Pick 20: Atlanta Falcons: Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan

Grady Jarrett seeing his window close and Atlanta set to lose Judon in FA, they need to continue to add to this unit up front. Grant gives you the ability to rush from the 3-tech, as well as play run downs in their scheme.

Round 1 Pick 21: Arizona Cardinals: Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame

Injury or not, Morrison is a top 3 CB in this class. Film may not help his stock, but he showed enough in previous years to secure a 1st round spot for a CB needing team. Melton and Morrison can make a real duo.

Round 1 Pick 22: Washington Commanders: Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota

Washington can use a future OT to continue to protect their prized possession in Daniels. At 22 to get OT3 seems too good to be true, and they continue to build a young and aspiring offense.

Round 1 Pick 23: Houston Texans: Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama

Kenyon Green is not cutting it in Houston, and similar to the pick prior, Stroud’s health has to be the top concern. Booker is my IOL1 and has minimal bust potential. Should start at LG day 1.

Round 1 Pick 24: Baltimore Ravens: Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss

Umanmielen could be considered a “my guy”. I love his motor and upside, and I think Baltimore will love the same in a Suggs style role. He is needed with an older group in BAL.

Round 1 Pick 25: Los Angeles Chargers: Walter Nolen, DL, Ole Miss

Back-to-back Ole Miss as Nolen has finally earned his spot in Round 1. Was tough to pass on WR here, but Harbaugh loves his IDL and with Grant/Graham gone, Nolen does the job.

Round 1 Pick 26: Green Bay Packers: Tacario Davis, CB, Arizona

Another Arizona guy goes as GB sticks with building their secondary. A group that has gotten younger adds a lengthy boundary guy to help Alexander against a WR happy division.

Round 1 Pick 27: Pittsburgh Steelers: Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas

This is usually Egbuka, but Bond falls in their lap. Elite speed to counter a big-time possession guy in Pickens, Bond comes in and immediately upgrades to Austin.

Round 1 Pick 28: Tennessee Titans (via MIN): Drew Allar, QB, Penn State

Titans flip 35 they got earlier with an early 4th to get back in round 1 and get the fifth-year option on Drew Allar. Another high ceiling big arm that can sit behind Levis and put pressure on him. Worth it to net out giving up a 4th.

Round 1 Pick 29: Philadelphia Eagles: Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

The run on UGA continues. Howie does it again getting an elite rusher prospect down at pick 29, but Williams fills a void and gives insurance if Sweat walks to pair with former bulldog Nolan Smith Jr.

Round 1 Pick 30: Buffalo Bills: Cameron Williams, OT, Texas

Dawkins continues to get bumps and bruises and Williams is a look toward protecting Allen past 2025. at 30, it is worth taking a guy to develop or play RT.

Round 1 Pick 31: Kansas City Chiefs: Jonah Savaiinaea, OL, Arizona

This year’s Jordan Morgan finds his way to KC as they look to get cheaper with an expiring Trey Smith. Thuney and Jonah will be the new OG duo in KC to protect Patrick Mahomes.

Round 1 Pick 32: Las Vegas Raiders (via DET): Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

Raiders get their project while Minshew has 1 year remaining to develop and become the new face of the franchise. Strong running ability and big arm gives them the worthwhile to grab an extra year for giving up a 4th.
